My dad has been in assisted living since I was 11. I’m now 23. He started in Colorado and then we moved him down to Arizona. He was in a 2 places before Maryland gardens. The care he gets here from the staff is such a breath of fresh air. I read a lot of the reviews about the layout of the place and although I understand and can see the place needs a few improvements… they’re working on it and have voiced their opinion and are making changes. My dad’s old facility did not care about him and thought he was too much. MG has completely changed my perspective about assisted living. Every person who works there does an incredible job and is very attentive. I talk to Estrella all the time and she gives me updates on my dad. She’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I’m beyond happy my dad is getting the help he needs at this place.

In my honest opinion I don’t understand how this facility remains open. When my mom was first brought to this facility she could walk and was not in diapers but within a few months of being there she was always in an office chair when we would get there. She told us she was in an office chair because they were making her sit in it. Come to find out they were training her for a wheelchair. Once they got her to use a wheelchair for mobility instead of walking, shortly thereafter she was wearing diapers and was too weak to stand. Yesterday my mom had a trip to the hospital and Maryland Gardens neglected to inform us when the incident happened; instead we were notified by the hospital. When I called to leave a message on Maryland Gardens answering machine letting them know that I was going to have them shut down before they killed my mother the executive Director Keith, took it upon himself to call the hospital and tell them that there was a problem and that we shouldn’t be allowed to see our mother for fear of abuse, and that we needed to go through the Fiduciary to see her. Keith’s retaliatory action regarding my voicemail is just more proof of the immature, unprofessional atmosphere at Maryland Gardens. Fortunately, the hospital did allow us to visit with our mom. There is absolutely no way I recommend anyone put their family there.

One of the most beautifully planed facilities in central Phoenix for your loved one’s need! The staff is caring and provide value in their roles. It also have a wonderful outdoor area that provides quality of life for their residents.

I have had the opportunity to work with both Keith Carroll and the team at Maryland Gardens Post Acute and Maryland Gardens Assisted Living here in Phoenix, and I cannot speak highly enough of the level of care and professionalism they consistently provide. Their facilities serve a uniquely complex and often underserved population, including individuals with dementia-related behaviors and those facing serious mental health challenges. These are not easy cases, and they require a level of attentiveness, adaptability, and experience that goes well beyond standard care. From what I have observed, their team meets that challenge head-on. In particular, I had the opportunity to speak directly with Linda Murbach, who made the time to engage in a thoughtful, thorough conversation with me despite actively managing emergent issues within the facility. What stood out was her ability to seamlessly balance both—providing clear, informed insight while simultaneously directing staff and responding to incoming needs in real time. That level of command and presence is not something you see everywhere. I have also had several exchanges with Keith Carroll, all of which have been professional, responsive, and aligned with a clear commitment to resident care and operational excellence. From a fiduciary standpoint, it is critical to partner with facilities that not only understand the clinical side of care, but also appreciate the importance of coordination, communication, and respect for the individuals we collectively serve. Just as importantly, there must be an understanding of the legal complexities that can arise when working with court-appointed guardians, along with a willingness to step outside of traditional comfort zones to ensure that practice aligns with real-world practicality. Maryland Gardens demonstrates these qualities consistently. I greatly value the working relationship we are building and would confidently recommend Keith Carroll, Linda Murbach, and the Maryland Gardens team to anyone in need of specialized, high-quality care for vulnerable populations.

I can’t say enough good things about Maryland Gardens Post Acute. My mom stayed there after being in the hospital for recovery following surgery, and the care she received was incredible from start to finish. The staff was not only professional but genuinely compassionate. They took the time to make sure she was comfortable, understood her care plan, and felt supported every step of the way. The nurses were attentive, and the therapists really helped her regain strength and confidence faster than we expected. What stood out most to me was how much they truly cared not just about her physical recovery, but about her overall well-being. They treated her with respect and kindness, which meant a lot to our family during a stressful time.

Maryland Gardens Post Acute Care Clinic made a huge difference in my grandfather’s recovery after his hip replacement surgery. When he first arrived, he was in a lot of discomfort and pretty discouraged about how long it might take to get back on his feet. From day one, the staff treated him with so much patience and respect. The nurses were always quick to respond and made sure his pain was managed, and they took the time to explain everything so he felt more at ease. The facility itself was clean and comfortable, and it really felt like everyone was on the same page and genuinely cared about his progress. Our family is really grateful for the care and support they gave him during such an important stage of his recovery.

Why on earth does everything you folks say you do is “5 star” if ya’ll only have 3 stars. I wished my mom was in an actual “5 start facility ” Maryland Gardens isnt it.

Maryland Gardens Is an absolutely horrible facility. Do Not Place your loved ones Here My father suffered abuse at this facility, he passed away in their care and did not inform us until a month later. I’ve requested his medical records numerous times only to be told that they would be sent to me via email. This is a violation of HIPPA(45 C.F.R. 164.524) It’s has been six months and they still have not sent them to me or my sister, Keep your family Safe and choose another facility.

I have had limited experience with this facility, but my visits there to see the husband of a good friend were very positive. He seems well-cared for, the staff was friendly, and the other patients seemed to be well cared for as well. The facility was clean and with lots of outdoor area, the setting was very pleasant. My friend is very pleased with the care he is getting, and to me, that is extremely important and my reason for the 5 stars.

Jon seems to be doing quite well there. The staff is friendly and helpful and we appreciate that very much…having the small outdoor area to walk is an added benefit as Jon has always loved to walk.

This facility is horrible! The environment was extremely unclean, and I was shocked that it remains in operation given the conditions. Not only that, I witnessed a staff member yelling at a patient who was simply asking for a blanket. When I reported the incident to a supervisor, it was dismissed without any action or concern. Following this, I immediately removed my brother from the facility. Based on what I witnessed, I do not believe the staff genuinely care for the well-being of their patients. I strongly urge others to consider alternative options for their loved ones.

Maryland Gardens Post Acute has very good quality care and compassionate and supportive staff, both with the person in their care and the family members. The days are structured and there are activities they can take part in if they so desire. The most important thing is knowing that my loved one is getting the medical care they need and that they are safe. That gives me peace of mind. Thank you Maryland Gardens for the great job that you do. I so grateful.
